Estos detectores de tensión están diseñados para comprobar que una tensión nominal está realmente ausente de un circuito en un sistema de AT entre 50 kV y 765 kV (Comprobación de ausencia de tensión) :
- El aparato debe detectar cualquier tensión nominal presente en una red o en una subestación.
- Evita detectar las tensiones inducidas para poder realizar las operaciones de puesta a tierra.
